The APEX Official Airline Ratings™ were created based on neutral, third-party passenger feedback and insights gathered through APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®, the world’s highest-rated travel-organizing app. Using a five-star scale, more than one million flights were rated by passengers across nearly 600 airlines from around the world between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019. The APEX Official Airline Ratings™ were independently certified by a professional external auditing company.

 

 

Passenger Choice Awards
In 2010, APEX introduced an expanded recognition program, the APEX Passenger Choice Awards. These awards rapidly distinguished themselves as the industry’s foremost honors.

 

 

 

Best Inflight Entertainment Innovation

This APEX Award was created to award airlines and/or their vendor partners who have created a new inflight innovation that is elevating the passenger experience via GUI design, features/applications, streaming, hardware, seat integration, etc.

 

 

Best Inflight Connectivity Innovation

This APEX Award was created to award airlines and/or their vendor partners who have created a new inflight innovation including interactive connectivity onboard, unique WiFi features/offerings, etc.

 

 

 

 

Best Airport Innovation

This new APEX Award recognizes achievement in creating a new airport innovation, idea or offering.

 

 

 

 

 

Best Marketing Innovation

This APEX Award recognizes achievement in creating a new marketing campaign or idea.

 

 

 

 

Best Cabin Innovation

This APEX/IFSA Award recognizes outstanding achievement in creating a thoughtful new cabin environment, including galleys, lavatories, and means to increase efficiency for crew.

 

 

 

 

Best Product or Service

This APEX/IFSA Award recognizes innovations in passenger comfort, including seats, design, lighting, temperature control, air quality and more. Sustainable entries will be given additional credit.

 

 

 

 

Best Inflight Food or Beverage

This IFSA Award recognizes a food or beverage product that appeals to passengers’ taste and enhance the onboard experience. The product can be an economy class complimentary or buy on board.

 

 

 

 

Best Onboard Amenity

This IFSA Award recognizes an amenity kit that provides an enhanced onboard passenger experience.

 

 

 

Best Customer Journey Experience
This award comprises all products that help to improve the customer experience journey (inspiration, planning, booking, purchase, pre-trip, departure, in-flight and post-trip) across airline travel categories.

 

 

 

 

Outstanding Contribution Award

The Outstanding Contribution Award shall be presented to an individual whose contributions, innovations, or leadership have generated a significant and fundamental improvement to the nature of airline passenger experience.

 

 

 

 

Newcomer of the Year Award

The Newcomer of the Year Award is for a product or service created by a new member company within the last two years. This award is designed to recognize a specific achievement which an airline has successfully used and implemented in the past year.
